Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This cookie policy explains which cookies sitelens.nl sets when you visit the website, why, and how you can change your choice later. This policy covers the marketing website sitelens.nl, not the dashboard at app.sitelens.nl (for that, our privacy policy applies).
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser, for example to remember a preference or measure visitor behavior. Some cookies are functionally necessary, others are optional and require consent before they may be set.
2. Which cookies we set
Sitelens.nl sets only one category of cookies: analytics cookies via Google Analytics 4. We use these to see which pages are visited and how people find the site, so we know which content works. We do not set advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies for retargeting.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes unique visitors | 2 years |
_ga_<container-id> | Remembers session state for GA4 | 2 years |
3. How we ask for consent
On your first visit you'll see a cookie notice at the bottom of the screen. If you click "Accept", we enable Google Analytics. If you click "Decline", we don't load analytics cookies and don't measure your visit. This works via Google's Consent Mode: until you make a choice, measurement is off by default.
4. Withdrawing or changing your consent
Your choice is remembered in your browser (via localStorage), not in a cookie itself. To
change your choice, clear the site data for sitelens.nl in your browser settings and reload the page — the
notice will appear again. Most browsers call this "clear site data" or "remove cookies and site data"
under the settings for that specific website.
5. Questions
For questions about this cookie policy, you can email thomas@ctrlsync.nl. More on how we handle your data in general is in our privacy policy.
